Alphaplate is a cooperative license-plate spotting game. This policy describes the small amount of data the app handles.

Data the app collects

• Approximate location (optional). If you grant the location permission, the app uses your coarse position to (a) sort the list of likely states for the current letter by distance, and (b) attach a rough place label (like “near Richmond, VA”) to plates you mark spotted in team mode. That label is stored with your team’s game data and is visible to your teammates. Precise location is never requested, and denying the permission only disables these two conveniences.
• Anonymous account ID. Team mode signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. This random ID links your spots and team membership; it is not connected to your name, email, or any real-world identity.
• Display name. The nickname you type for team play, visible to your teammates.
• Game data. Boards, spotted letters, timestamps, and run history for your teams, stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). Solo play is stored only on your device.

What the app does NOT do

• No ads, no analytics, no trackers.
• No sale or sharing of data with third parties (beyond Firebase, which hosts the data).
• No precise location, contacts, photos, or other sensitive data.

Data retention & deletion

Team game data is kept so your team’s history works. Leaving a team removes your membership. To request deletion of your data (a team, or everything tied to your anonymous ID), contact the developer at the address below.
